I was born in Beaufort, SC and lived there until I left my small town for college in the big city of Norfolk, VA at Old Dominion University. Here I completed my M.S. in Elementary Education as well as Library Science Graduate Coursework in School Librarianship. Gail Dickinson was my instructor for several courses and my strong preparation as a school librarian can be directly attributed to her outstanding guidance and high expectations.
After college, I moved to Connecticut and worked as a school librarian at Har-Bur Middle and Lewis S. Mills High School. Currently employed as an elementary school librarian in West Hartford, CT, I enjoy all aspects of librarianship including daily administration, readers' advisory, and technology instruction.
My interests include travel (because I love to meet people from different places and learn about new cultures and foods), reading (of course), cooking, visiting museums, concert-going, and exploring new spots for walks/hikes in nature.
